Napoleon III, the emperor of France in 1855 had issued a request for a list of the best wines in Bordeaux*. The classification below is based on the reputation, price and quality of each winery during that time.
*Bordeaux is a region in France. A Sub-Region is the equivalent of an area inside that region. An example would be an US State as the region, with a County, inside that state as the Sub-Region.
